(CNN)As a shooter exchanged fire with Capitol Police officers protecting a congressman and others at a Virginia ball park Wednesday early morning, regional cops promptly established a boundary and required more systems.

Through dispatch audio published to the archive area of the Broadcastify site, the timeline of the authorities and ambulance action unfolds.
