Police: Parolee who killed California officer linked to other shooting

(CNN)An experienced California officer was eliminated Monday early morning when a just recently paroled gang member associated with an automobile mishap opened fire, authorities stated.

The fallen officer was recognized as Keith W. Boyer, a 27-year veteran of the Whittier Police Department. A 2nd Whittier officer who reacted to the mishap was injured, inning accordance with Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
