(CNN)At least 26 individuals were eliminated in Sunday's church shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott stated at an interview.

About 20 others were injured, stated Freeman Martin, a local director with the Texas Department of Public Safety, with victims varying in age from 5 to 72 years of ages.

Among the dead is the 14-year-old child of the First Baptist Church's pastor, Frank Pomeroy, inning accordance with his spouse, Sherri Pomeroy, the lady's mom. When the shooting happened, the couple were taking a trip out of state.

Martin stated the suspect was seen in a Valero filling station throughout the street from the church in Sutherland Springs at about 11:20 a.m. regional time on Sunday early morning.
