"First of all, it didn't occur, the method she reported," Hoffman responded.

The Recently Tonight host then resolved the "It is not reflective of who I am" part of Hoffman's public declaration, stating, "It's that part of the action to this things that pisses me off. It is reflective of who you were. You've provided no proof to reveal that it didn't occur. When you were a climber around females, there was a duration of time. It seems like a cop-out to state, 'Well, this isn't really me.' Do you comprehend how that seems like a termination?"

"You weren't there," Hoffman fired back, to which Oliver reacted, "I'm pleased."

"You've put me on screen here," argued Hoffman. "You have actually prosecuted me ... That's not innocent up until tested guilty."

According to reports, Oliver then checked out from Hunter's visitor column in The Hollywood Reporter, which resulted in the following tense exchange in between comic and star:

"Do you think this things you check out?" Hoffman asked.

"Yes," stated Oliver. "Because there's no point in [Hunter] lying."

"Well, there's a point in her not bringing it up for 40 years," Hoffman responded.

"Oh Dustin," Oliver shot back.

Those previously mentioned Upper East Siders in the audience grew anxious as the interrogation went on, with a single person yelling "Move on!" while another lady apparently shrieked, "Thank you for thinking females!"

Oliver described that he raised the sexual-abuse accusations since "we're about to view a motion picture where unwanted sexual advances is an under-plot and there's an elephant in the space since this discussion is not being had."

Rosenthal then tried to move the discussion, responding, "It wasn't produced by Weinstein Co. or Miramax, so you do not have an actually huge discussion. Kevin Spacey wasn't starring in it. Let's take a look at genuine sexual criminal predators."

"That's a low bar," stated Oliver.

The comic more broadened on his reasoning for raising the claims thusly: "I cannot leave specific things unaddressed. The simple method is not to bring anything up. That leaves me at house later on at night disliking myself. Why ... didn't I state something? Nobody withstands effective males."

"Am I the effective guy?" asked Hoffman, incredulously.
