Widows had its European Premiere at the 2018 London Film Festival. The female led crime drama is co-written and directed by Twelve Years a Slave Oscar Winning director Steve McQueen. Gone Girl and Sharp Objects writer Gillian Flynn co-wrote the script from the Lynda LaPlante original. At tonight's premiere we spoke to Voila Davis, LFF director Tricia Tuttle, producer Iain Canning, and head of Film4 Daniel Battsek.
The film stars Viola Davis, Liam Neeson, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Carrie Coon, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, Jon Bernthal and Daniel Kaluuya.
PLOT:
Set in contemporary Chicago, amidst a time of turmoil, four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands' criminal activities, take fate into their own hands, and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.
Widows is released on the 6th of November, 2018 in the UK and the 16th of November, 2018 in the US.
