United Nations, New York (CNN)United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley revealed Monday that the United States and nearly 40 other countries would not take part in the first-ever talks on a worldwide treaty to prohibit nuclear weapons.
Flanked by ambassadors from about 20 countries, consisting of nuclear powers United Kingdom and France, Haley couched the choice not to participate in the talks, which started Monday, in individual terms.
As a mommy and child, "there is absolutely nothing I desire more for my household than a world without any nuclear weapons," the previous South Carolina guv stated. "But we need to be practical."
