(CNN)United States President Donald Trump has stated that he would wish to talk to Chinese President Xi Jinping prior to speaking with Taiwan's leader.
In an interview with Reuters news company, Trump stated he would not wish to "trigger trouble" for the Chinese leader by once again braking with the "one China" policy.
"He's a good friend of mine. He's really a-- I believe he's doing a fantastic task as a leader, and I would not wish to do anything that is available in the method of that. I would definitely desire to speak to him initially," Trump stated.
