Lindsay Lohan Defends Harvey Weinstein In Bizarre Video Posted Online

The world was floored beyond belief when multi-award winning film producer and studio executive, Harvey Weinstein, who Meryl Streep described as “God”, was accused of sexually harassing young actresses in a New York Times article.

It was a very alarming article,in which high-profile actress Ashley Judd revealed that she was one of the movie mogul’s victims back in the 90s. In 2012, Meryl Streep’s description of Weinstein being as powerful as “God” within the movie industry didn’t seem far off at all. He was, after all, behind colossal blockbuster hits such as Pulp Fiction (1994) and Good Will Hunting (1997). However, underneath his talented and seemingly faultless surface, there was a stream of actresses and former employees who have now spoken out against the movie mogul, claiming they had been sexually harassed, assaulted, and in three instances, raped. In the days after the shocking revelation, fellow celebrities, colleagues and fans around the world were united in their support for the alleged victims. Each actress who came forward was applauded for her bravery and candidness. When both Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie confessed that Weinstein had made inappropriate sexual advances towards them in their respective hotel rooms, the world was shocked. People still cannot believe that one man had abused his power to such an extent and in such secrecy that some of the most famous women in the world felt like they weren’t able to speak out. Therefore, no one would ever believe that anyone could be brazen enough to condemn these women for speaking out, especially not another Hollywood actress. But as it turns out, Lindsay Lohan has done just that in a now-deleted Instagram video. The 31-year-old Mean Girls star shot the video in her bathroom and said, “This is Lindsay Lohan. Hi, I’m in Dubai. I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now, I don’t think it’s right what’s going on.” Lindsay Lohan is one of the actresses who worked with Weinstein, although she denies that he ever made any inappropriate advances towards her. Lohan even gave him a “special thanks” credit on 2006’s Bobby, in which she played Diane Howser. Furthermore, she had nothing but positive things to say after working with the the 65-year-old producer on Scary Movie 5 in 2013. Lohan then added: “I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband, and he’s never harmed me or done anything wrong to me.” This was said in response to the statement Weinstein’s wife, Georgina Chapman, released in which she revealed that she would be separating from her husband in light of the allegations: “My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” Chapman began. “I have chosen to leave my husband.” Lohan concluded the video stating that we should all be supporting Weinstein rather than condemning him: “We’ve done several movies together, and so I think everyone needs to stop, I think it’s wrong. So stand up for him.” While Harvey Weinstein never harassed Lindsay Lohan, this of course in no way proves that he was incapable of doing just that. He did, after all, issue an apology after the initial allegations were made against him. All we can do now is wait for more information to come to the fore, and hope that justice is served.
