Twenty-Seventeen was a huge year for music, movies and TV so here are some of our favorite break out stars!
Carid B took the rap world by storm with her single Bodak Yellow becoming the longest-running No. 1 hit from a solo female rapper in the history of the Billboard Hot 100.
She topped the year off with two Grammy nominations and an engagement ring from Migos rapper Offset.
Tiffany haddish is the break out star of Girls Trip, picking up awards from tne New York Film Critics Circle and the Amrican American Critics association for her role as Dina. She is also the first black female stand-up comic to host "Saturday Night Live” in the shows history.
Joe Keery and his amazing hair made his way into all of hearts as Steve Harrington in Stranger Things. His love for the Farrah Fawcet hair spray and great on screen chemistry with Gaten Matarazzo have us impatiently waiting for season three.
Lena Waithe became the first black woman to win an Emmy for writing in a comedy series for her hilarious work on Master of None and next year The Chi, a drama that she is a writer on and executive producer will premiere on Showtime.
Yara Shahidi hit the big time as Zoey Johnson on the award winning show Black-ish. She’s also headed to Harvard, in her real life, and also landed her own spin-off called Grown-ish.
And who can forget Gal Gadot! The relatively unknown Israeli actress picked up Wonder Woman’s lasso and bracelet, bringing in over eight hundred and twenty million dollars world wide at the box office.
Proving once and for all that women are just as bankable as men.
