2 German women confirmed killed in Egypt knife attack

(CNN)Two female travelers eliminated in a knife attack in the Egyptian Red Sea town of Hurghada were German, the nation's Foreign Ministry stated Saturday.

"Sadly we now have certainty that 2 German travelers were eliminated in the attack in Hurghada," a press officer for the German Foreign Ministry informed CNN.

"In these dark hours, our acknowledgements head out to their pals and households. Personnel at the German Embassy in Cairo are on the ground in Hurghada and in contact with the Egyptian authorities."

Four other travelers were hurt in the attack, Egyptian state-run news firm Al-Ahram reported.

A suspect has actually been detained, and the victims were required to a medical facility, Egypt's Interior Ministry stated.

Investigators think the enemy swam from a public beach, inning accordance with the ministry.

No names were launched, and no information were offered about the condition of the hurt victims. The intention for the attack is not yet understood.
