(CNN)Less than a week after a historical North Korean rocket test, the leaders of the United States and China promised to interact to stop Kim Jong Un's nuclear rocket program.

"Something needs to be done," United States President Donald Trump stated throughout the short public part of a conference with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 top in Germany.

There will "become a success" versus Pyongyang, Trump stated. "It might take longer than I 'd like. It might take longer than you 'd like. There will be success in the end one method or the other."
