Needless to say, she agreed, and she is now set to star in Sweetbitter. “Brad had Ella in mind from the get-go. He went out of his way to cast her,” a source revealed. “Ella is incredibly flattered by all the attention she’s getting from Brad. She’s told friends he’s always been her number one celebrity crush.” Brad may be one of the busiest men in Hollywood, but soon after casting the young actress, he made sure to check in on her regularly. So, there was plenty of time for the pair to get to know each other on a more intimate level. “He’s so enchanted,” a source said. “Brad had Ella in mind from the get-go. He went out of his way to cast her.” And there may well be a colossal 32-year age gap between the pair, but they’re not letting that get in the way of their love. At least not now that the relationship is in its very early stages. There’s plenty of time for it to turn sour, as Hollywood relationships often do. According to the source, Brad “realizes the huge age difference and that everyone would look at the relationship as a midlife crisis mistake. But he’s taken with Ella’s spunky, funny demeanour and formidable acting skills.” “It’s only a matter of time before Brad takes their relationship to the next level,” the source continued. You might also be wondering what Angelina makes of all this. I mean, the six children they share together mean “Brangelina” will always be forced to be in each other’s lives. To say Angelina didn’t react well to the news would be a total understatement. In fact, reportedly, she’s seething, and that’s partially due to how young Ella is. At 21, she’s just five years older than Brad’s eldest child, Maddox. However, it’s more specifically because Ella played the younger version of her character in the 2014 movie Maleficent. It’s all just a little bit uncanny. “She’s furious about Brad’s interest in Ella and her being cast in Sweetbitter,” says the source. “She absolutely hates that Brad is cavorting with someone who played the teenage version of her in a film.” And according to reports, Brad is far too interested in the stunning starlet to pay any attention to the naysayers, including his ex-wife. “Although Brad’s been working on his sci-fi space travel film Ad Astra, he’s been checking in with Ella weekly as she preps for production,” says the source. “Brad plans on coaching Ella for the show. He’s sure it’s going to be a hit and that it’s going to make Ella a star.” The source predicts big things for their relationship: “It’s only a matter of time before Brad takes their relationship to the next level.” Considering Brad has teenage kids, it’s not difficult to imagine why Angelina might find the news a little hard to swallow.
